The Brooklyn Nets have finally completed the 2026 NBA Draft after using their three draft picks on players that they will hope will be integral parts of the current rebuild. Brooklyn is coming off a 20-62 record in the 2025-26 season so they were hoping to acquire some talent over the course of the offseason, but the work started with who they selected in the draft.
The Netsselected Louisville guard Mikel Brown Jr. with the No. 6 pick in the draft and while some are wondering why Brooklyn chose him over Arkansas guard Darius Acuff Jr., it became clear after hearing Brown speak on his meetings with the Nets. Acuff projects to be the kind of guard that can be an offensive engine for a team if he meets his ceiling, but Brown has his own unique blend of scoring and playmaking while having optimal positional size.
Later on in the draft, the Nets took Iowa State forward Joshua Jefferson with the No. 28 pick that they received from the Minnesota Timberwolves in the trade that also brought forward Julius Randle to Brooklyn. Jefferson brings physicality along with an interesting skillset as a big who can pass the ball well while showing some potential to be a perimeter threat if he improves his jumpshot enough.
To end their draft, Brooklyn selected UCLA forward Tyler Bilodeau with the No. 43 pick and afterwards, the Nets signed him to a Two-Way deal, ensuring that he has the chance to grow with the G League team in Long Island. Bilodeau, listed at 6-foot-9 and 220 pounds, presents as a floor-stretching power forward who could develop into more of an offensive threat if he can improve his handle.
Brooklyn selected three point guards (Egor Demin, Nolan Traore, and Ben Saraf) in the 2025 draft, but it's clear that Brown could be slated to be the future point guard with Demin excelling in an off-ball role. The Nets will begin their summer league on July 4th as part of the California Classic, but before that comes around, here is the entirety of Brooklyn's 2026 draft class:
