Nebraska hoops star drops double-double in summer league debut

A former Nebraska basketball star had a double-double in his summer league debut. Rienk Mast had 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 assists in the Indiana Pacers' 99-93 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Mast was a two-time All-Big Ten honoree who averaged 13.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game in his final season. He scored in double digits in 24 games his senior season and 20 or more in five games.

The power forward went undrafted in 2026 before signing as a free agent with the Pacers. He is one of four Huskers who are participating in the annual Las Vegas event.

Sam Hoiberg (Phoenix Suns), Josiah Allick (Charlotte Hornets) and Brice Williams (Detroit Pistons) are all competing in the 2026 NBA Summer League. Following the win, Mast spoke about his mindset heading into his first NBA action.

"I know I'm not a draft pick, so I'm not out here to take all the shine... I’ve got to do my job, I’ve got to work hard.”

The Pacers return to action on Saturday, July 11, at 6:30 p.m. CT to take on the Philadelphia 76ers.
