There are just six teams remaining in the hunt for this year’s NBA title. Four of them will play Friday night, as the Pistons will face the Cavaliers in Cleveland, and the Spurs will take on the Timberwolves in Minneapolis. Both second round contests are Game 6s. Below, we’ll deliver a betting preview for both games.
Detroit Pistons at Cleveland Cavaliers
Series score: Cavaliers lead 3-2
Start time/TV: 7 p.m. ET/Prime Video
The Pistons are kicking themselves today as they held a nine point lead over Cleveland with 3:08 remaining in regulation Wednesday night, only to lose 117-113 in overtime. Detroit also led by 15 points at one point in the first half.
James Harden led the way for the Cavs in their gritty Game 5 road win as he scored 30 points, his highest point total of the 2026 postseason.
Jalen Duren continued to struggle for the Pistons as he scored just 9 points and totaled just 5 rebounds in Game 5. Duren averaged 19.5 points and 10.5 boards per game in the regular season. Pistons head coach JB Bickerstaff opted to bench Duren in overtime of Game 5.

Fanatics Sportsbook has the Cavs as -4 home favorites for Game 6 Friday night.
The Cavs are 6-6 against the spread so far in the playoffs. Detroit is 5-7 ATS so far in the postseason.
Cleveland has won the last three games outright and has also covered the spread in its last three games against the Pistons.
The total for Game 6 at Fanatics has been set at 209.5. That is the lowest set O/U of the series thus far. Here is what has transpired with the total so far during the series:
- Game 1: Under 216.5
- Game 2: Under 215.5
- Game 3: Over 212.5
- Game 4: Over 212.5
- Game 5: Over 211.5
Donovan Mitchell’s points O/U for Game 6 has been set at 26.5. “Spida” scored 23 points in Game 1 against Detroit, 31 in Game 2, 35 in Game 3, 43 in Game 4, and 21 in Game 5.
Fanatics has Cade Cunningham’s points total set at 27.5 for Game 6, with juice on the Under. Cunningham tallied 23 points in Game 1 against Cleveland, 25 in Game 2, 27 in Game 3, 19 in Game 4, and 39 in Game 5.
San Antonio Spurs at Minnesota Timberwolves
Series score: Spurs lead 3-2
Start time/TV: 9:30 p.m. ET/Prime Video
The T’Wolves are down 3-2 in their second round series against the Spurs, but they should find some solace in the fact that they will be home for Game 6 Friday night. Minnesota is 4-1 at Target Center in the playoffs thus far.
That said, San Antonio has zero fear when it comes to going on the road. The Spurs went 29-12 on the road in the regular season in 2025-26, which was the second best road mark in the NBA behind OKC (30-10 away record). Mitch Johnson’s crew is also 3-1 on the road so far in the playoffs.
The Wolves are back to relying on Anthony Edwards to do the brunt of their scoring. Earlier in the series, Edwards was still working his way back from a left knee hyperextension and bone bruise injury. He played just 25 minutes in a Game 1 Minnesota win and 24 minutes in a Game 2 Minnesota loss.
Here are his minutes and point totals for the past three games.
- Game 3 Wolves loss: 41 minutes, 32 points
- Game 4 Wolves win: 40 minutes, 36 points
- Game 5 Wolves loss: 39 minutes, 20 points
The Wolves are a +5.0 home underdog to the Spurs for Game 1.
Minnesota is 6-5-0 against the spread in the playoffs so far, while San Antonio is 7-3 ATS in the 2026 postseason.
The total for Spurs vs. T’Wolves Game 6 is 218.5 at Fanatics.
Over bettors have been quite happy with this series as the two teams have combined to go Over the number in the past four games. Only Game 1 went Under.
Victor Wembanyama has a points Over/Under of 26.5 at Fanatics. Wemby scored 11 points in Game 1 against Minnesota, 19 points in Game 2, 39 points in Game 3, 4 points in Game 4 (he was ejected in the second quarter), and 27 points in Game 5.
Fanatics has Edwards’ number also set at 26.5.
