The first leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup semifinal series between Nashville SC and Tigres UANL on April 28 is under a weather delay.

Both teams were on the field for warmups until lightning was detected in the area 30 minutes before scheduled kickoff at 7:30 p.m. Fans at Geodis Park were instructed to shelter in place.

Storms are expected to move through the area throughout the night. The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for metro Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Per the NWS, the storms are moving east, with lightning, heavy rain and strong winds a possibility.

Nashville and Tigres will play a two-legged semifinal series, with the second leg hosted by Tigres on May 5 in Mexico. The winner will advance to the final on May 30 against either Los Angeles FC or Toluca.

This story will be updated.
