The Nashville Predators have signed forward Alex Kerfoot to a two-year contract, according to a report from TSN's Darren Dreger.
The contract is reportedly worth $7 million over two years for an average annual value of $3.5 million. The Predators have not confirmed the signing.
Kerfoot, 31, just finished his ninth season in the NHL, scoring seven goals and six assists in 34 games for the Utah Mammoth. In 639 career games, Kerfoot has 105 goals and 200 assists while averaging 14:56 ice time per game.
This is general manager Chris MacFarland's first free agent signing since being named president of hockey operations on June 2.
Earlier in the day, the Predators traded for forward Mavrik Bourque from the Dallas Stars. Nashville has now added Kerfoot, Bourque, Ross Colton, Jack Drury, and Nils Hoglander since MacFarland took over.
According to Puck Pedia, the Predators now have $11 million in cap space for the 2026-27 season.
A 5-foot-11, 185-pound left-handed forward, Kerfoot was a fifth-round draft pick by New Jersey in 2012, but did not sign with the Devils. He signed in 2017 with the Colorado Avalanche as a college free agent after leaving Harvard.
Kerfoot played two seasons with the Avalanche (2017-2019) before signing a four-year deal with Toronto in 2019. He just finished a three-year contract he signed with Arizona/Utah in 2023.
