The devil is in the details, we're always told.
It seems the easier parts of NASCAR's 2027 Cup Series schedule are in place. In fact, the first month of the season, and 17 of the 38 race dates, including the preseason Clash and springtime All-Star Race, have been announced over the past week.
But some key details have yet to be resolved.
Will NASCAR return to Naval Base Coronado for a second year? Will Chicagoland return for a second straight year, or will the streets of Chicago be revisited?
There's been talk of a possible swap between North Wilkesboro and Dover, with Dover returning to a regular-season venue while North Wilkesboro takes over hosting duties for the All-Star Race.
Details, details, details. When those details involve important input from speedways, host cities, networks and the Boys in Logistics, something as routine as a racing schedule turns into a real Rubik's Cube.
But here's how it looks for now, and the way things are going, we could be adding to it any minute, so check back periodically ...
