Four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs is looking for a new NFL home. Or, could he be looking to return to the same place he called home throughout the 2025 season?
Multiple New England Patriots players are hoping it's the latter.
Diggs broke his silence on his NFL future in an Instagram post, touting his 2025 statistics and wondering where his next landing spot will be. That one post prompted several responses from top Patriots players hoping to see the star receiver return to New England for the 2026 season.
"This is not an opinion-based sport, so here are the numbers," Diggs posted. "I played 52% of the snaps and finished with 85 catches for 1,045 yards coming off an ACL. Where we going?"
Patriots defensive tackle Milton Williams commented with the eyeballs emoji, while running back Rhamondre Stevenson posted the fingers crossed emoji.
Wide receiver DeMario Douglas commented, "One of dem ones."
Patriots star defender and former All-Pro cornerback Christian Gonzalez flat-out posted, "To the pats."
The Patriots released Diggs at the start of the new league year, with executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf pointing to ability and financial reasons for the move. However, Wolf stated multiple times that he wasn't closing the door on a possible Diggs return to New England.
With that said, the team did sign Romeo Doubs to a four-year deal in free agency, and they are expected to trade for Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown on or after June 1. A receiving corps of Brown, Diggs and Doubs sounds like something out of a dream.
One has to wonder about the chances of that becoming reality.
