Emily Simons of Mukwonago girls lacrosse was the winner of last week's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel high school Piggly Wiggly athlete of the week poll for April 7-12.
The sophomore midfielder earned 3,442 of the 4,581 total votes cast.

Simons had 11 points in a pair of victories for Mukwonago over Kettle Moraine (12-11) and Muskego (11-10), including four goals against the Lasers and five goals against Muskego.
Ella Erickson of Union Grove softball finished second with 1,004 total votes. Others nominated in last week's poll were Ethan Bauerschmidt from Kenosha Tremper baseball, Lili Levas of Pewaukee softball and Gavin Gain of Racine Horlick baseball.
