Ricky Carmichael — widely regarded as the greatest all-around dirt bike athlete in the sport’s history — has competed in motocross events around the world throughout his career.
Now the Tallahassee resident, who remains deeply involved in both professional and amateur motocross, is taking his talents to the South Lawn of the White House on Saturday, June 13.
The appearance is part of the UFC Freedom 250 weekend celebrating America’s 250th anniversary and President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday.
Carmichael, 46, shared his pride and patriotism on social media.
“Absolutely, it’s a massive honor,” Carmichael posted on his Facebook page Friday, June 12. “To step up and represent the country that’s given us so many opportunities. … I am honored to do this. I can’t wait.”
Carmichael is one of five motocross riders now set to perform stunts outside the White House. "Nitro Circus" star Travis Pastrana recently extended the invitation to Carmichael, who quickly returned from out of the country to participate.
"As you guys know by now what's going on this weekend and celebrating 250 years of the best country ever on the planet, I was on my way, a work trip across the pond, my good friend Travis Pastrana gives me a buzz," Carmichael said.
"He was like, 'Hey dude, would you do this, would you come to the White House, this is what we got cooking?' Listen, he gave me the details and I was like 'Absolutely.' You guys know, especially if you followed by career, how much the United States means to me."
Carmichael, who was raised in Havana and lives in Tallahassee, made history in November 2025 as the first-ever motocross athlete to be inducted into the Florida Sports Hall of Fame.
