Nearly 48 hours after adding three-star wide receiver Kyren Caldwell, Maryland football landed its top class of 2027 offensive talent.

The Terps secured the commitment of four-star wide receiver Myles McAfee, becoming the program’s sixth recruit in the position group. He chose Maryland over Virginia Tech and more than 20 other schools.

The Archbishop Spalding product will reunite with several former teammates, including quarterback Malik Washington. McAfee’s previous head coach, Kyle Schmitt, is also Maryland’s tight ends coach.

The 6-foot-1 wide receiver was sidelined last season after suffering a lower leg injury in the season opener. But McAfee is a deep ball threat capable of hauling in contested catches despite lacking elite size.

He is just the third in-state prospect in Maryland’s recruiting class as part of head coach Michael Locksley’s emphasis on expanding the program’s recruiting footprint along the East Coast.

While the Terps have yet to land a five-star prospect, their 2027 recruiting class continues to grow with highly regarded talent across multiple positions.
