The Major League Baseball 2026 Draft has arrived.
Once again part of All-Star week festivities, the MLB draft will kick off at 11:00 AM MDT on Saturday, July 11 with the Chicago White Sox selecting first overall.
This draft is critical for the Colorado Rockies in several regards.
Now well into their rebuild, this will be the Rockies first draft overseen by president of baseball operations Paul DePodesta and general manager Josh Byrnes. Their selections in the draft will provide a sense of what this front office values in players.
This year’s draft will take place over two days. The first three rounds—along with compensatory and competitive balance rounds—will take place today, while rounds 4-20 will take place on Sunday starting at 9:30 AM MDT.
After selecting Ethan Holliday in 2025, the Rockies will start their draft this year with the tenth overall pick, and they have four selections on day one of the draft.
Now to the details.
The Rockies are scheduled to make the following picks on day one:
- Round 1: 10th
- Competitive Balance Round A: 37th
- Round 2: 38th
- Round 3: 76th
- Round 4: 104th
Start time: 11:00 AM MT
Television: Day 1 (Rounds 1-4):
• 11:00-12:30 p.m. MT – Picks 1-10 (NBC/Peacock)
• 12:30-2:30 p.m. MT – Picks 11-40 (MLB Network, MLB.com, MLB TV, MLB+)
• 2:30-5:45 p.m. ET – Picks 41-135 (MLB.com, MLB TV, MLB+)
