WORCESTER -- The Milton High baseball team needs to beat King Philip to claim an MIAA Division 2 state crown.
If that sounds familiar, it's because the Wildcats topped KP in both the 2022 and 2023 championship games. Now the two will square off again for all the marbles.
The fourth-seeded Wildcats (18-6) will play No. 11 KP (16-8) at Polar Park at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 12. That's the second game of a state-final doubleheader. The Div. 5 final starts at 4 p.m. with No. 1 Boston English (18-7) facing No. 2 Georgetown (18-6).
Milton's only two state titles came in 2022 and 2023. KP is seeking its first-ever crown, having also lost to Hudson in the 2002 final.
