MILLIGAN, Tenn. (WJHL) – The Milligan Buffaloes closed the regular season in emphatic fashion Sunday night, as the men’s and women’s basketball teams combined for a memorable doubleheader inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse against the Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs.

On the men’s side, Milligan earned a 101-92 victory to wrap up its season, highlighted by a historic performance from senior Elijah Bredwood. Bredwood poured in 54 points to set a new program single-game scoring record in his final collegiate contest, surpassing the previous mark of 52. He finished on 20-of-40 shooting, including eight 3-pointers, as the Buffaloes led by nine at halftime and held off a second-half push from the Bulldogs.

Te’Jon McDaniel-McCormick added 18 points, while Liviu Anton scored nine in the win. Milligan finished the season 9-19 overall and 7-12 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play.

Earlier in the evening, the Milligan women secured the outright AAC regular-season championship with a dominant 78-41 win over Tennessee Wesleyan. The Buffaloes raced out to a commanding first-half lead and never looked back, holding the Bulldogs to single-digit scoring in the opening quarter.

Semaj Clark led the way with 17 points in 21 minutes, while McKenna Myers and Lina Lyon chipped in 12 points apiece. The Lady Buffs had 14 players contribute to the scoreboard and improved to 20-7 overall and 19-1 in conference play, capturing their seventh AAC regular-season title.

The Milligan women will next compete in the AAC Tournament on Thursday in Kingsport, while the men concluded their 2026 campaign with the senior-night victory.
