Mike Trout has only ever played in MLB for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

On Thursday, he'll set a cool Angels all-time record that emphasizes the franchise legend that he is.

Trout will be making his 14th Opening Day start for the Angels. That's more than anyone ever.

The previous record was 13, held by Garret Anderson, according to Baseball America's Taylor Blake Ward.

It's just one more cool feat for Trout in a career full of them for the Angels.

Trout was originally the No. 25 overall pick by the Angels in the 2009 MLB Draft.

The legend has it that it was a cold, snowy, rainy spring in Millville, New Jersey, so scouts didn't get a chance to see as much of Trout as they would've liked. That dropped him down to where the Angels could pick him.

He eventually won Rookie of the Year, and he has won the MVP three times.

Trout has hit 404 home runs and counting with the Angels. He has 1,754 hits, 214 steals, 1,018 RBI and a .294 batting average.

Injuries have hampered Trout in recent years, but his sprint speed this spring suggests he may be healthier than he has been in a while.

Regardless, Trout will always be an Angels legend.

It's not his fault that the organization hasn't put good enough teams around him to get him to the playoffs. Trout has done what he can, and he'll hold this new Angels record now, too.
