Pat McAfee didn’t waste any time capturing one of the defining moments of the 2026 NCAA Tournament, sitting down with Braylon Mullins after his dramatic game-winning shot sent the UConn Huskies back to the Final Four.

McAfee opened with a nod to Mullins’ Indiana roots as he “punched a ticket back to Indianapolis.” But the spotlight quickly shifted to the shot. It was a moment Mullins admitted still felt surreal.

Despite starting the game 0-for-4, Mullins knew what he had to do. With seconds ticking down, he trusted his instincts. “I knew once I had the ball… I had to put one up,” Mullins said. “It came off my hand pretty well. It’s crazy that was the one that went in.”

McAfee pressed on the confidence factor, noting teammates could be heard on the CBS broadcast saying any shot Mullins takes has a chance. Mullins confirmed that belief never left him. Even on an off-shooting night, he didn't back down.

Mullins admitted the emotions are still settling in, calling the experience “crazy to process.”

The interview also featured an appearance from Mike Krzyzewski, who praised Mullins for delivering in the clutch. "Congratulations, son," Coach K said. "What an amazing moment. And how about your senior leader, (Alex) Karaban, having the confidence in you to make a historical pass before the historical shot."

Mullins' moment will forever be tied to March Madness history. As UConn moves on to face Illinois, the shot that took down Duke will be front and center this time of year for generations to come.
