The New York Mets couldn't have asked for a better start to the season, as they have the second-best record in baseball at 22-11. They're just one game behind the Los Angeles Dodgers, who they might play in October.
The pitching staff is a big reason for their success, as they lead MLB with a 2.69 ERA ahead of their game against the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday afternoon. Both the starting rotation and bullpen are red-hot, as ace Kodai Senga leads the starters with a 1.38 ERA, while Reed Garrett leads the relievers with a 0.68 ERA in 13.1 innings.
However, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza broke unfortunate news about the bullpen on Sunday, via SNY.

Surgery has been recommended for left-handed reliever Danny Young (elbow), who New York transferred from the 15-day to the 60-day IL on Sunday.
"It's up to him to decide," Mendoza explained.
Mets fans aren't happy on social media.
"Bro's gonna be Danny Old when he comes back," one person said.
"Well it was fun being the #1 bullpen in the league for 6 weeks," another said.
"RIP to our bullpen...it's only May," another said.
"He stinks," another said.
Young has a 4.32 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and four holds in 10 appearances this season. The 30-year-old's last outing was on April 26 against the Washington Nationals.
Young's 8.1 innings this season are tied for the second-most in his career for one year. The southpaw notched 37.1 innings last season, recording a 4.54 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and seven holds.
