NEW CASTLE — The round was different, but the other results were the same for Meadville’s boys volleyball team.
The Bulldogs, who swept Shaler Area in the semifinal round of last season’s PIAA Class 2A tournament, accomplished those same feats in a June 6 quarterfinal. They resumed their quest for a third state championship since 2019 with a 27-25, 25-13, 25-18 victory vs. the Titans at Shenango High School’s Bill McNees Gymnasium.
Meadville advanced to the June 9 semis with a 19-0 record. The District 10 power will face the winner of the June 6 quarterfinal between District 3 Brandywine Heights and District 7 South Fayette.
Shaler, the WPIAL’s top seed, was eliminated at 16-2.
