Marcel Desailly believes Xabi Alonso is the “perfect” coach for the Blues, whilst Chelsea is the “perfect” club for the Spaniard.

Chelsea confirmed the appointment of Alonso earlier this month, and the 44-year-old has signed a four year contract at Stamford Bridge.
Unlike Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior, Aonso has been given the title of manager, which suggests he’ll be given more control.

The appointment of Alonso is seen as a real coup for the Blues, and is the first time BlueCo have gone and got the best possible option available.
It’s been reported the players are excited by the appointment, and Reece James has hailed Alonso as an amazing manager.
However, Alonso has got a huge job on his hands, as Chelsea endured another difficult campaign in which they lost the FA Cup final and finished tenth.
It’ll be Alonso’s first taste of managing in the Premier League, but Desailly feels he’s the perfect coach for the club.
“But for Alonso, I feel he’s the perfect coach who can deal with upper-grade, top-class players – just not in the massive numbers he had to deal with at Real Madrid – but he can also develop players,” he said as quoted by TEAMtalk.
“You can see it at Chelsea, right?”

Filip Jorgensen has asked to leave the club, whilst youngster Mike Penders will reportedly be reintegrated into the first team squad after his loan at Strasbourg.
It’s reportedly unlikely the Blues will sign a new keeper this summer, but the final decision will ultimately lie with Xabi Alonso and the sporting leadership team.
