Manchester United vs Leeds – Match preview and team news

Manchester United host Leeds United on Monday night to conclude the Premier League action of the matchweek.

The Red Devils have enjoyed a remarkable transformation under Michael Carrick since January. They currently sit third in the table and are well on course for Champions League football.

United missed a chance to consolidate third place after a 2–2 draw with Bournemouth recently. However, they remain only six points clear of sixth-placed Chelsea.

Leeds arrive at Old Trafford battling for their top-flight survival. Daniel Farke’s side sit 15th and remain just three points above the relegation zone. They recently reached the FA Cup semi-finals after a penalty shootout win over West Ham United.

Nevertheless, their league form has stalled with a worrying lack of goals lately. This historic rivalry promises high tension under the Monday night lights.

United have lost only once in their last 14 league games since Christmas. Michael Carrick has won all six of his Premier League games at Old Trafford. The team has collected 29 points since Christmas, a tally bettered only by Arsenal. United are unbeaten in their last 18 home league games against Leeds.

Leeds have failed to score in each of their last four league matches. This represents the longest ongoing scoreless run in the division this season.
