Manchester United are considering a surprise move for Real Madrid outcast Federico Valverde. The Uruguay international has found himself frozen out at the Spanish capital following a training ground altercation with teammate Aurélien Tchouaméni.
The incident left Valverde requiring hospital treatment for a concussion, sidelining him for the rest of the season. The Real vice-captain was compelled to release a public statement and issued a groveling apology. However, it is understood that club officials remain furious with the midfielder and will look to offload him this summer.
Compounding the issue, senior figures in the Real dressing room have thrown their support behind Tchouaméni and are pushing for Valverde to be sold ahead of next season, as per The Mirror.

United are monitoring the situation at the Bernabeu closely. The English giants are looking to strengthen their midfield this summer and have previously shown interest in Tchouaméni.
However, the French World Cup winner is reportedly reluctant to depart Real Madrid, given the backing his club has shown him following his confrontation with Valverde.
Whether Valverde would be receptive to a move to United remains unclear. The Uruguayan international is contracted until 2029 and would command a significant transfer fee.
United have made securing two top-quality midfielders a priority this summer. Casemiro is set to depart Old Trafford at the end of the season, while United are also expected to sell Manuel Ugarte to the highest bidder.
