On college basketball

To the editor: So I think I have figured it out, and I wish I hadn't. Men's college basketball has become a game of Scrabble. At the end of each year, all of the pieces are put back in the box and then everyone chooses a new team. The coaches hope for "team chemistry," and I do mean hope. It's like throwing a bunch of elements into a bucket hoping it makes a cake, and also hoping the concoction doesn't explode in your face. Every year is going to be a crapshoot. I sure miss college basketball.

Mike Kindt

To Mike: Sure doesn't sound fun to be a college basketball coach anymore, does it?

On golf

To the editor: Muirfield Village is one of the greatest golf courses in the world, and Barbara Nicklaus is the high priestess of golf. The two should join together with Wendy’s, White Castle and Mrs. Les Wexner, the high priestess of fashion, to bring a major LPGA championship tour event to central Ohio. That would be a great culinary and golf event for this central Ohio golf booster and fast-food connoisseur.

Michael Oser, Columbus

To Michael: Pass that idea along to Mayor Andrew J. Ginther, who last week declared he wants to make Columbus the nation's capital for women's sports.
