Madden 27 ratings: Trey McBride is new No. 1 tight end after joining 99 club

There's a new No. 1 tight end in the NFL for the second-straight year, according to the initial Madden 27 ratings published on Wednesday, July 29 ahead of the game's launch next month.

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride has overtaken George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers for the top spot, earning a coveted 99 rating from Madden 27 developers. It's the first time McBride has registered a 99 overall rating and up from his initial 93 rating in Madden 26. McBride went on to set a league record last season for catches by a tight end (126) and also set career highs with 1,239 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Kittle checks in as the No. 2-rated tight end with a 96 overall rating after replacing Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce as the game's top-rated tight end last year. Kelce ranks third in Madden 27's tight end ratings, while Colston Loveland (Chicago Bears), Tucker Kraft (Green Bay Packers) and Hunter Henry (New England Patriots) are new additions to the top 10 this year.
