Luka Doncic has become an MVP-level force for the Los Angeles Lakers, making the team a Finals contender in the process.
But on Thursday night -- with him having played 64 games, one below the NBA awards eligibility threshold of 65 -- he left the loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder with a hamstring injury and was treated during halftime. He returned, but in the third quarter, he tried to make a move with the ball in his hands and he came up limping.
He looked absolutely devastated as he lay down on the court and teary as he left for the locker room. So what's the latest?
Coach J.J. Redick said that Doncic would have an MRI on Friday to find out more. So we'll await the results of that before we see if Doncic can return for the regular season or the postseason... or if he's out longer than that.

Luka Dončić goes down due to hamstring injury, going gingerly to the locker room, fall of pain, in tears, and frustrated - will not return to play tonight (with replays)

"We checked him out, he got worked on, he was cleared... We're not gonna put a player at risk."
