May 6—The District 2 boys tennis team championships scheduled for Tuesday at Kirby Park were postponed due to weather. They wll be played indoors on Wednesday at Birchwood Tennis and Fitness Center in South Abington Township.
The Class 3A semifinals will be first. Abington Heights and Wyoming Valley West will play at 8 a.m. Crestwood and Delaware Valley will be at 9:15 a.m.
The championship match will be at 1 p.m.
The Class 2A semifinals will be Scranton Prep vs. MMI Prep at 10:30 a.m. and Wyoming Seminary vs. Holy Cross at 11:45 a.m.
The championship match is 2:15 p.m.
SOFTBALL
Tunkhannock 16, Hazleton Area 5
McKenzie Hannon and Taryn Newswanger homered as Tunkhannock ended the game after five innings.
The Tigers scored 12 runs in the second inning.
Lucy Karp and Erin Van Ness each had three RBI for Tunkhannock. Karp had a triple and Van Ness had a double. Kayden Bamberger was 3-for-3 with two RBI.
Nanci Major was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI for Hazleton Area. Kayla Lagowy had two doubles.
Holy Redeemer 21, MMI Prep 0
Clare Grandzol and Lauren Hayden hit home runs as Holy Redeemer ended the game in three innings.
Grandzol and Hayden each finished with three RBI. Abby Williams had two doubles and three RBI.
Berwick 5, Wyoming Area 0
Makayla Brown had a triple, double and an RBI as Berwick defeated Wyoming Area.
Brown also threw a shutout with 10 strikeouts.
Ashlyn Klahold and Morgan Drauschak each had a double for Berwick.
Renee Haddock had two of Wyoming Area's three hits.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Lake-Lehman 9, Dallas 8
Lake-Lehman rallied from an 8-3 halftime deficit to defeat rival Dallas.
Avary Jacob, Sara Womach, Olivia Oliver and Ady Perlis all scored two goals. Olivia Corcoran also scored.
Lehman goalie Cadence Rindock made six saves.
Leah Ricardo scored four goals for Dallas. Ella English had three goals and Sarah Snowdon had one.
BOYS LACROSSE
North Pocono 14, Mifflinburg 0
Ian Kamora and Tate Brown scored three goals each as North Pocono picked up a non-conference win.
Dylan O'Neill added two goals.

Berwick 3, Hazleton Area 1
Berwick defeated Hazleton Area 25-13, 23-25, 25-23, 25-18.
Top players for Berwick were Jayden Charles (13 kills, 19 digs, 5 aces, 15 service points), Carlos Guzman (14 kills, 16 digs, 3 aces, 18 service points), Gavin Jones (18 digs), Rocco Romeo (10 kills, 2 blocks), Chris Reyes (6 kills) and Jackson Matash (44 assists, 10 digs).
