Little League Softball World Series: Meet the teams competing for title

The United States' teams – especially programs from Texas – have dominated the Little League Softball World Series since its start in 1974.

While Florida’s Wellswood Little League (Tampa, Florida) won the inaugural title in 1974 and the state had an impressive streak of four titles from 1986-1989, Florida is still only second on the all-time wins list with eight champions. Texas leads the all-time list with 14 championships – thanks to Midway Little League’s 11 championships won between 1992 and 2004.

What are the 2026 Little League Softball World Series Teams?​

Coincidentally, Florida and Texas will each have a representative in the 2026 Little League Softball World Series as the field of competitors is set with 12 teams heading to Greenville, North Carolina, to battle for this year’s title.

OnField Little League (Repentigny, Quebec) became the last squad to qualify after it won the Canada Region Tournament on Monday, July 27 with a 2-0 record. OnField Little League will be in the purple bracket for the Little League Softball World Series and will challenge the following teams for the right to advance: Emilia Romagna Little League (Bologna, Italy); Johnston County Little League (Clayton, North Carolina); Snohomish Little League (Snohomish, Washington); Lake Mary Little League (Lake Mary, Florida); and Greater Helotes Little League (Helotes, Texas).

Meanwhile, the LLSWS orange bracket will consist of the following teams: Kinki Softball Little League (Sangō, Japan); Daviess County Little League (Owensboro, Kentucky); Guayama Softball Little League (Guayama, Puerto Rico); Toms River Little League (Toms River, New Jersey); Bristol Girls Softball Little League (Bristol, Connecticut); Live Oak Little League (Live Oak, California).
