Lionel Messi sets unwanted World Cup record with penalty miss
Lionel Messi may be human after all...
For the second time at this year's World Cup, the Argentina talisman has been denied from the penalty spot.
Back in the group stage, Messi missed a penalty in their 2-0 win against Austria.
Now, in a crunch Round of 16 tie against Egypt, he has failed to convert a penalty once again.
This time, his spot kick was expertly saved by Egypt goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir, making him the first player to miss two penalties at a single World Cup, excluding shootouts.
A cruel blow given Argentina were trailing after an early headed effort from Egypt's Yasser Ibrahim.
There's still plenty of time to turn things around, though!
