Lionel Messi is going to a sixth World Cup.

The Argentina legend was included on Argentina's 26-man roster for the 2026 World Cup, which was released on Thursday, May 26.

Messi, along with his longtime rival Cristiano Ronaldo, can become the first men's players to appear in six World Cups if they see the field in North America this summer.

The 38-year-old led his country to the World Cup title in 2022, cementing his legacy as an all-time great while winning the Golden Ball as the tournament's best player.

Now playing in MLS with Inter Miami, Messi overcame a recent injury scare to lead Argentina's title defense in North America.
