After a devastating crash caused the great Lindsey Vonn to sustain a complex tibia fracture, the comeback queen took to social media to update her fans, breaking her social media silence since the accident.

And she received well wishes from fans and A-list stars from all over the world.

“Yesterday my Olympic dream did not finish the way I dreamt it would,” she captioned the Monday, February share to Instagram, which featured a photo of the star flying down a mountain in Cortina. “It wasn’t a story book ending or a fairy [tale], it was just life. I dared to dream and had worked so hard to achieve it. Because in Downhill ski racing the difference between a strategic line and a catastrophic injury can be as small as 5 inches.”

She also cleared up any chatter that she had pushed herself too hard after a recent injury put her appearance in Italy in jeopardy in the first place.

“I was simply 5 inches too tight on my line when my right arm hooked inside of the gate, twisting me and resulted in my crash,” she wrote. “My ACL and past injuries had nothing to do with my crash whatsoever.”

She was instantly flooded with thousands upon thousands of positive comments.

“LV, I’m so inspired by your courage to always challenge yourself,” wrote A-list actress Reese Witherspoon. “You are & will always be a true Champion .”

The official Olympics account added, “We’re forever inspired by you. Recover well, champion. ❤️

Tennis legend Coco Gauff gushed, “So inspiring ❤️ ❤️ ❤️.”

Vonn’s crashed happened during the women’s downhill final on Feb. 8.

The Alpine skier legend, 41, began her historic comeback by rejoining the U.S. Ski Team for the 2024-2025 season, after retiring due to injury in 2019. After a partial knee replacement surgery that facilitated her comeback, the iconic skier began training for her Olympic return.

The Olympic champion — her three medals include the only American woman’s gold downhill — was also the first woman to rack up 82 World Cup victories, among other records.
