LeBron James is a officially a free agent after informing the Los Angeles Lakers that he is looking for a new home.

LeBron will be 42 in December, but is still one of the best players in the game. In what turned out to be his final season with the Lakers, LeBron averaged 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 7.2 assists.

While the scoring output was the lowest since his rookie season, and his rebounding numbers were below his career average, his assist numbers were right at his career average.

He was also the best player on the team in playoffs, leading them past the Houston Rockets in the first round despite injuries to Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves.

Now the question becomes, where will LeBron James play next?

LeBron James has instructed Rich Paul to talk to everyone around the league who is interested in him playing for them and come back to him with what the options are so he can make his decision, a source familiar with James' thinking told ESPN.

Could He Head To Denver?

According to reports, LeBron wants to play " meanginful and competitive basketball."

ESPN's Dave McMenamin adds that he has instructed his agent Rich Paul to talk to every team around the league who is interested and come back with options to make a decision.

If LeBron is willing to take less money, any team could be an option for him. Including the Denver Nuggets.

LeBron is very familiar with Denver and its core of Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Aaron Gordon from their playoffs battles over the years.

The Nuggets haven't made it out of the second round since winning the NBA Championship in 2023, but they remain one of the best teams in the league thanks to Jokic. LeBron could easily be a missing piece that gets them back to at least the Western Conference Finals.

How Would It Work?

There are only a handful of "super computers" in the NBA that process the game at the highest of levels.

Jokic is one of them. LeBron is another.

Having those two on the same team feels like a cheat code of sorts.

While LeBron has never been the most willing off-ball mover, he's also never played with a post playmaker on the level of Jokic. Kevin Love was a very good passer, but LeBron was still at the peak of his powers during his second run in Cleveland and Kyrie Irving was also there.

Jokic is one of the best passers regardless of position in the history of the league, and he is currently at the peak of his powers.

LeBron would add to an already potent offense, and stabilze things when Jokic is off the court, something that has plagued the team over the years.

If LeBron truly wants to play competitive and meaningful basketball, but doesn't want to join a team that recently made the finals, Denver might be the top option.
