LeBron James just set a college javelin throwing record, but there's a twist originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
LeBron James just set a college javelin throwing record.
That's not a typo, either. It's just not exactly how it appears.
There's a young man named LeBron James who is on the track & field team at New Mexico Junior College.
Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, this James is a thrower, and a good one.
He recently threw the javelin 77.91 meters, which is more than 255 feet, to set a new NJCAA record:

MORE: Warriors head coach Steve Kerr snuck a Taylor Swift song into his pressers
This is how you know the NBA LeBron's longevity is crazy: Athletes are coming along with his name before he has even retired.
He probably won't be the last one who shares a name with a King, which could get slightly confusing if anyone particularly remarkable comes along.
This is already really impressive -- javelin is an aesthetically pleasing event, and tossing it that far is absolutely awesome.
Also, one key tidbit: LeBron James, from NMJC, says in his athletic bio that his favorite athlete is Bronny James (who, yes, is LeBron James Jr.).
So it's basically LeBron-ception.
