Dallas Trinity FC came away from its road match against Brooklyn FC with a 1-1 draw on Saturday at Maimonides Park.
The point moved Dallas to 9-10-6 with 33 points on the season, as the club slid into the fourth and final playoff spot with just three matches remaining. Brooklyn took a 1-0 lead in the 79th minute, but it was Camryn Lancaster who found the equalizer of Allie Thornton's assist in the 90th minute to secure the draw and help her club earn a crucial point in the standings.
The late goals came after 78 minutes of scoreless soccer despite an action-packed first half. Dallas' Tyler McCamey registered four saves in the first half to help keep the game even heading into halftime.
For the match, it was Brooklyn that had more offensive pressure. It outshot Dallas 16-8, including six shots on target compared to Dallas' three shots on target.
The draw helped Dallas maintain its grasp on the fourth and final playoff spot. It holds a one-point lead over DC Power FC in the standings, which sets up an incredibly important match as Dallas visits DC in its next match. The match between Dallas Trinity FC and DC Power FC will take place on Friday, May 1 at 6 p.m. at Audi Field. It will be aired on KFAA and stream on WFAA+ and Peacock.
