The Los Angeles Lakers embarrassed themselves against the Boston Celtics on Sunday with one of their worst offensive outings in recent memory. They shot 39.1% from the field and 30% from 3-point range, and they were also outrebounded by 11 in a 111-89 loss.
They will look to bounce back on Tuesday when they host the Orlando Magic, a team that was expected to be very competitive this season but instead has a modest 30-26 record and is in seventh place in the Eastern Conference. While star forward Franz Wagner is out of action, the Magic still have a strong and talented front line that L.A. will have to deal with.
L.A. is expected to be at full strength on Tuesday, with the exception of backup center Jaxson Hayes. Hayes had to leave Sunday's game early, and he's listed as doubtful with a sprained ankle.
According to coach JJ Redick, Hayes got imaging done on his hurt ankle. The imaging revealed a bruise, and as a result, the big man is considered day-to-day.
This could mean that reserve big man Maxi Kleber, who has been in and out of Redick's rotation this season, could get some meaningful playing time on Tuesday. It also could mean LeBron James will be forced to play some minutes at the 5.
