LOS ANGELES -- LeBron James, the NBA's all-time leading scorer, has been ruled out for the Lakers' game against the Pacers on Friday with a left elbow contusion and left foot arthritis.
James set the NBA's all-time field goals record in a loss to the Nuggets on Thursday night, but also injured the elbow. James scored 16 points in the game on 7 of 11 shooting. The 41-year-old four-time MVP is averaging 21.4 points, 7.0 assists and 5.6 rebounds per game in his 23rd season in the NBA.
Lakers center Deandre Ayton is also out with left knee soreness and forward Maxi Kleber is out with a lumbar strain in his back. The Pacers have ruled out center Ivica Zubac (left ankle sprain) as well as All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton (Achilles tendon tear) and forward Johnny Furphy (ACL tear) with their long-term injuries. However, All-Star forward Pascal Siakam, forward Aaron Nesmith and guard Andrew Nembhard are all listed as probable after recent returns from injury.
