The Houston Rockets will look to get off to a strong start in their first-round series against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night.
Unfortunately for Houston, an unexpected – and critical – player has popped up on the team’s injury report ahead of Game 1.
Kevin Durant 'questionable' for Game 1 vs. Lakers
Star forward Kevin Durant is listed as “questionable” on the official report due to a right knee contusion. His official status will be determined sometime prior to tipoff.
Durant apparently suffered the injury during practice this week, according to ESPN. While unfortunate, the organization is optimistic that it's nothing too serious.
Knowing Durant, and given the magnitude of the game, it seems unlikely that the two-time champion wouldn't be out on the floor with his teammates. But ultimately it depends on the severity of the issue.
Durant was extremely durable for Houston during the regular season as he started in 78 of a possible 82 games. That's pretty impressive considering his age (37) and all of the miles on his body.
