MORGANTOWN, WV — One moment, Kentucky baseball was cruising toward another NCAA Tournament Super Regional.

UK was just three outs away from a victory, up 9-6 on West Virginia entering the top of the ninth Sunday night. But the Wildcats couldn't put away the Mountaineers. WVU rallied to score five runs in the ninth. Kentucky failed to respond in the bottom of the ninth to prevent a stunning collapse, losing 11-9 at Kendrick Family Ballpark.

While failing to hold onto a three-run lead in the final frame, it's not over for Kentucky. It was the first loss of the regional for UK and coach Nick Mingione. In the double-elimination format, the Cats and Mountaineers return for a winner-take-all matchup Monday. Game time and television information will be announced later.

This story will be updated.
