Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers have gone through a tough battle against Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves so far in their playoff series. For the Lakers, the fight has not been going well.
Heading into Game 5, Los Angeles is facing a 3-1 series deficit. Doncic and company will be fighting to keep their season alive on Wednesday night.
With the series still in play, former NBA champion and current ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins has spoken out with a bold prediction about the two main superstars in the series. He has made a bold comment about the future of both Edwards and Doncic.
As shared by Legion Hoops on X, Perkins made an appearance on "First Take" and dropped his bold prediction.
“Anthony Edwards is going to win a championship before Luka Doncic," Perkins said. "[Ant] is a better all-around basketball player than Luka Doncic... [Ant] is a top 5 player in the game today.”
There are many differing opinions on the topic. Plenty of fans rushed to the comment section to make their voices heard about the debate.

"Ant has the more complete team, he is not necessarily the more complete player," one fan wrote.
A second fan commented, "Ok so? And? Perkins is a waste of time now man what happened?"
"The Wolves are built around Ant. The Lakers aren’t built around Luka. There is a big difference," a third fan wrote.
Another comment said, "Perk speaking the gospel."
Game 5 between Doncic and the Lakers facing off against Edwards and the Timberwolves is scheduled to tip off at 10 p.m. ET on Wednesday night. The game will air on TNT, truTV, and Max.
