The first week of the 2026 softball season has concluded. No. 4 Tennessee (4-0) won its four games during the NFCA Division I Leadoff Classic at Eddie C. Moore Complex in Clearwater, Florida.

The Lady Vols also recorded two top 25 victories over No. 5 Oregon and No. 21 Liberty.

Tennessee senior Karlyn Pickens (2-0) was named SEC Pitcher of the Week after recording two wins against the Ducks and Flames.

Against Oregon, she pitched a complete-game shutout and totaled nine strikeouts and 115 pitches, including 75 strikes, against 25 batters. Pickens pitched seven innings against Liberty, recording 13 strikeouts and 120 pitches (72 strikes) against 29 batters.

She earned her eighth SEC Pitcher of the Week honor and 11th total SEC weekly award during her career with the Lady Vols.

Tennessee will return to the Eddie C. Moore Complex, Friday-Sunday, for the Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational. The Lady Vols will face Nebraska, James Madison, FAU, UCLA and Florida State.
