The Kansas City Royals have been on an absolute tear lately, winning 11 out of 13 games.

Their finding of success has been sparked by their ability to win on the road, a problem they had heading into their recent six-game road trip.

After their series-winning game on Sunday, Kansas City has now won four straight series in stints against the Colorado Rockies, Houston Astros, Tampa Bay Rays and Baltimore Orioles.

With this being said, the Royals went into Sunday's game with confidence and it showed with their stellar at-bats.

Royals set single-game franchise record for home runs

In an 11-6 victory over Baltimore on Sunday, Kansas City was able to hit seven home runs in their electric matchup with the Royals.

Before Sunday's game started, they were dead last in team home runs on the season.

Coming into today, the Kansas City Royals had a major league-low 18 home runs in 34 games. In nine innings against the Orioles today, they’ve hit a franchise-record seven home runs.

In a game between two AL hopefuls, there were 11 combined home runs, making it a game that fans were fortunate to be able to watch.

The home run frenzy featured six different Royals going deep.

It began for Kansas City in the second inning with a homer from Maikel Garcia and picked back up in the fifth when Jonathan India started a streak of five straight innings with a home run for the Royals.

Garcia would hit his second of the game in the sixth and Bobby Witt Jr., Winnie Pasquantino, Luke Maile and Michael Massey all followed by sending balls out of the park.

These seven home runs would set a franchise record of home runs hit in a single game with seven.

Although the big game only moved the Royals into a tie with the Pittsburgh Pirates for 28th in total home runs, it could ignite Kansas City's offense and build momentum for a long season ahead.
