Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones spoke with reporters after Sunday’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He shared his appreciation for rookie Omarr Norman-Lott getting his first career sack.
“It was a very physical sack. He’s a huge guy with that ability,” said Jones, “I think we drafted him in the second round just for that, and he came out and made a big statement today. It’s something we can build off of and add him to the rotation. I’m glad to have him back.”
Norman-Lott secured his first career sack with an exceptionally tough hit on Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. The Chiefs hope this was the first of many for the former Tennessee Volunteers standout.
The Chiefs’ second-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft began his college career at Arizona State but transferred to the University of Tennessee. In two seasons with the Volunteers, he collected 44 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery.
