Josh Hart admitted on Tuesday that he questioned his basketball skills earlier in the NBA campaign. The New York Knicks swingman played a significantly smaller role compared to the latter part of the regular season and the playoffs.

“I definitely didn’t see the bigger picture,” Hart said. “There were moments I went home and I’m like, ‘Damn, man, am I a**? Do I suck as a basketball player?'”

He still averaged 30.2 minutes despite the early limited playing time. Hart played 33.0 minutes a game in the postseason, proving that he is an important piece to the team’s championship quest.

Josh Hart will play in first NBA Finals

Hart played a pivotal role in helping New York sweep the last two playoff rounds and reach the Finals. His ability to play multiple positions has given the team a lot versatility. He averaged 11.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.8 steals in 14 postseason appearances. HIs rebounding and timely baskets became the difference between winning and losing some games.

The 31-year-old entered the NBA in 2017 and is four wins away from calling himself an NBA champion. He has proven that he can shine in the postseason, and coming this close to a title should only motivate him more to give it his all.

It all starts with Game 1 on Wednesday, with Hart and Co. aiming to steal homecourt advantage immediately.
