The Arizona Cardinals fired Jonathan Gannon as their head coach following their 3-14 season and after he went 15-36 over three seasons as head coach. He could find a job elsewhere.
According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, there is interest in him as a defensive coordinator. He interviewed with the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday for their defensive coordinator job and is scheduled to interview with the Green Bay Packers, who just lost defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, who was hired by the Miami Dolphins to be their new head coach.
Garafolo noted that multiple teams are interested in Gannon, most notably the Cowboys.
Before Gannon's three seasons as the Cardinals' head coach, he was the defensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles for two seasons. They were a top-10 unit in yards allowed both seasons and made it to the Super Bowl.
If he is hired elsewhere, the salary he was due to make for the next two seasons from the Cardinals will be offset by what the new team agrees to pay him.
