John Simpson openly admitted confidence was something he lacked earlier in his NFL career, but he says his first season in Baltimore completely changed the way he viewed himself as a player. After arriving with the Ravens in 2023, Simpson developed into a dependable starter and eventually earned a significant contract in free agency. Looking back now, he credits Baltimore's winning environment and culture for helping him finally put everything together mentally.

During his appearance on The Lounge with Ryan Mink and Garrett Downing, Simpson explained how important that Ravens season was for his growth and confidence.

“No, it definitely was a long process obviously to get me where I am today. But it was just like a light switch almost. I just needed that. The confidence that I got being here and going through a winning organization just kind of helped me. It showed me how it’s supposed to be done and you get momentum.”

Baltimore has developed a reputation for helping players revive or elevate their careers, especially along the offensive line. Simpson's journey feels like another example of how much confidence, structure, and the right environment can completely change a player's trajectory.
