Jerry Jones was at the centre of attention during the World Cup semi-final between France and Spain on Tuesday.
Spain delivered a world-class performance at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium, winning 2-0 to reach the final.
Cowboys owner Jones was among the many celebrities in the crowd, along with FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
ITV commentator Sam Matterface noticed a mix-up involving Jones and Infantino, which soon went viral on social media.

Jerry Jones booed during France vs Spain World Cup semi-final
The world feed showed Gianni Infantino at the same time that loud boos came from the crowd during the World Cup semi-final.
Many television viewers would have assumed the fans were booing Infantino, but that was not the case.
As Sam Matterface explained, the crowd was actually booing Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who appeared on the big screen.
It was just unfortunate timing that television viewers in the United Kingdom and around the world were looking at Infantino.
Jones is not a popular figure among the Cowboys fan base, given that ‘America’s Team’ has not won a Super Bowl since 1995.
The 83-year-old’s biggest critics would argue that he is more focused on making headlines than winning football games.
Jones’ appearance at the World Cup semi-final between France and Spain would certainly not have helped his case.
