No. 9 Florida State softball pitcher Jazzy Francik has had a phenomenal freshman season. To add to her dominance in the circle, she threw her first no-hitter on Saturday, leading FSU (44-7, 18-2) to an 8-0 victory over Virginia Tech (39-10, 17-6).

Francik was the first freshman since Kathryn Sandercock in 2019 to put on a no-hitting performance. In her seventh start, she retired 18 batters in six innings, finishing the day with three strikeouts and three walks. Francik currently leads the Seminoles with 74 strikeouts and seven saves when thrown into the pitching rotation. She improved to 9-2 in the circle.

While the Hokies were hitless, the Seminoles continued to dominate at the plate, recording 10 hits with eight runs. FSU scored four runs in the first four innings, including two solo home runs by Hallie Wacaster in the top 1st, and then Katie Dack in the second.

After hitting a double, Dack and Angelee Bueno led the Seminoles with two RBI. Jahni Kerr and IsaTorres each tied with Dack and Bueno with two hits. FSU's best inning came in the bottom of the sixth when the Seminoles put up four runs on four hits, which put them in position for a one-run lead.

With the series win, FSU looks to sweep VA Tech on Sunday at 4 p.m. to complete the regular season.
