It took all of 13 minutes after the news broke that LeBron James was joining the Philadelphia 76ers for his new teammate, and another recent Sixers addition, to sound off on the move. Jaylen Brown, who the 76ers acquired via trade this offseason, immediately took to social media to react to the deal, and needed only one hashtag to get his point across.
As the NBA world was collectively losing its mind, Brown posted a simple message on X just after the news of James' signing was reported by ESPN's Shams Charania.
"#throwtheballup," Brown wrote on X.
Sometimes, all you really need is four words, or one hashtag, to get the point across. And for Brown, the addition of James and a starting lineup that is arguably the best in the entire NBA has surely made him feel just a bit more comfortable following a trade that ended his time with the Boston Celtics.
