It's been a fairly busy offseason for the Washington Commanders, and they'll wrap up spring work this week with mandatory minicamp on June 16-18. After that, they're off for a month and return to the practice field for training camp in July.
We're officially in the most boring time of year in the football world. Player movement is rare. Coaching hires and front office changes are long completed. Now, we wait. We wait for training camp to start because it signals the beginning of the season, as it slides right into preseason activity.
While we wait, Around the NFL writer Nick Shook recently ranked each division in the NFL by their crop of quarterbacks. The NFC East houses Dak Prescott, Jalen Hurts, Jaxson Dart, and Jayden Daniels. He ranks the NFC East quarterbacks No. 3 in the NFL.
Here's what Shook said about Daniels' part in the ranking:
Keeping Daniels upright and healthy is the Commanders' No. 1 goal for 2026. After watching him take the reins in 2024, leading the Commanders to their first NFC Championship appearance in over 30 years, the team learned in 2025 that Daniels is vital to the team's success.
The NFC East looks to be one of the most competitive divisions in 2026, and it's largely because the division houses some top-tier quarterbacks. Daniels is among them, and the Commanders hope to be the team that takes the division this year.

Jayden Daniels' sophomore season was essentially a wash due to multiple injuries. He couldn't stay on the field consistently enough to establish a rhythm and sustained his worst ailment in garbage time of a blowout loss, underscoring the waste that was the Commanders' season as a whole. I pray they get back on track in 2026 and keep Daniels upright and healthy, because he's too good to spend most of the season on the sideline.
