The Washington Commanders will enter the 2025 season with huge expectations, and that is due to having Jayden Daniels at quarterback and the franchise's offseason moves.
Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil were traded for, bolstering two key offensive positions, to complement what Kliff Kingsbury already has.
That alone is expected to be the driving force in the Commanders reaching the playoffs again, but they won't be coming from the shadows as they did last season; now, everyone knows it's coming.
With the NFL schedule now being released, how many games are the Commanders expected to win? Caesars Sportsbook & Casino has Washington winning 10.2 games in 2024, and NFL.com's Cynthia Frelund tips it to be quite the start to the year for the Commanders.
"Through Week 7, the Commanders are forecasted to be atop the NFC East," Frelund writes. "At that point, they will reach what could be a major turning point for their season: a Monday Night Football game in Kansas City in Week 8, followed by back-to-back home contests against the Seahawks and Lions. Washington can secure its best chance of outlasting the Eagles in the division by winning at least two of those three games. In other words, the Commanders can really set themselves up well ahead of their Week 11 game against Miami in Madrid, Spain."

So that projection has the Commanders with the second-best record in the NFC, behind only the Philadelphia Eagles. That means playoff football for the second straight season under Dan Quinn and Daniels.
Granted, the 10 wins will be seen as a "setback" for some, but winning 12 games again, especially when the NFL has another offseason to work on your weaknesses, not to mention a tough schedule, is hard to do.
However, the Commanders have proven over the past 12 months that they aren't the easybeats anymore, and another double-digit season would signal that this rebuild under the new regime is on the right track, regardless of the outcome in the postseason.
