Jason Richardson won the NBA slam dunk contest twice during his professional career. One day, his son Jaxon may carry that family legacy for him, too.

Jaxson, a consensus five-star recruit who committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide earlier this year, participated in the Sprite Jam Fest Dunk Contest before the McDonald's All-American Game.

Jason, who played professionally from 2001 until 2015, was also a McDonald's All-American in 1999. He won an NCAA championship for Michigan State in 2000. His older son, Jase, played college basketball at Michigan State as well before he was selected by the Orlando Magic in the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft.

Jase participated in the dunk contest during NBA All-Star Weekend in 2026 but lost to Miami Heat forward Keshad Johnson. His brother, Jaxon, made sure that at least one Richardson won a dunk contest this year.

Jaxon threw down one of the most ridiculous dunks fans will ever see during this contest.

He managed to jump over five (!) people, including two 7-footers as well as someone dressed as the Ronald McDonald mascot, while taking off from the free-throw line.

Somehow, the dunk was a success and the reaction was an appropriate amount of disbelief from everyone who attended.

Keep an eye out on Jaxon, who could eventually win an NBA dunk contest if he has this type of athleticism and ambition and creativity.
