JASHARI FEATURES AS SWITZERLAND WIN ON PENALTIES
It was an historic night for Switzerland, who reached the FIFA World Cup quarter-finals for the first time since 1954. Ardon Jashari also made his mark, as he was handed his first start of the tournament, operating in central midfield with the freedom to push further forward. Before being substituted at half-time, he showed determination and personality, producing several key passes and forward balls that stood out. At BC Place in Vancouver, Switzerland held Colombia to a 0-0 draw after both regulation time and extra time before winning 4-3 on penalties. The Swiss will now face the defending champions Argentina in the quarter-finals, with kick-off scheduled for 03:00 CEST on Sunday 12 July.
