Powered by double-doubles from Ariel Hearn and Rennia Davis, the Jacksonville Waves achieved their first-ever victory in the Upshot League, 98-86 over the host Charlotte Crown on May 21 at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, N.C.

The win for the Waves (1-1) is the first for a Jacksonville club in a professional women's basketball league.

Hearn scored 23 points with 10 rebounds and former Ribault High School state champion Davis tallied 12 points with 10 boards as the Waves pulled away with 30 points in the final quarter.

Shyanne Sellers (21 points), Taylor Soule (15), Lindsey Pulliam (12) and Jasmine Walker (11) also scored in double figures for the Waves.

Deja Kelly and Reigan Richardson scored 17 points apiece to lead Charlotte (1-1). Former Bishop Kenny High School standout Jasmyne Roberts scored eight for the Crown.

The Waves return home to VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena for a 4 p.m. Saturday game against the Greensboro Groove, then play 3 p.m. Sunday on the road at the Savannah Steel.
